Hi, I’m Naz Bombata a Los Angeles based Illustrator, Designer, and Storyteller creating surreal, visually striking narratives that merge technology, identity, and emotion.
For most, the worlds of football and art seem to exist at opposite ends of the spectrum. One is a high-impact, strategic battle fought on a field of grass and dirt; the other, a quiet, contemplative act expressed on canvas or paper. Yet for me, these two seemingly different worlds have not only coexisted but have also shaped each other.
The journey began on the gridiron. Football taught me everything about discipline, teamwork, and the raw power of collective effort. It was a world of defined roles and clear objectives. Every play was a calculated strategy, a series of precisely timed movements where success depended on the person next to you. It was where I learned resilience, the strength to get back up after a hit, the perseverance to push through exhaustion, and the unwavering commitment to a shared goal. The lessons of the huddle and the locker room forged a foundation of character that is a part of my very being.
Then there was art. This was my escape, my sanctuary. In the fluid strokes or the deliberate shading of my digital pencil, I found a different kind of discipline, one rooted in observation and creative expression. Where football was about rules and boundaries, art was about breaking them. The canvas became a space for me to process emotions, to see the world not in terms of Xs and Os, but in color, texture, and light. It taught me patience and how to appreciate the details that go unnoticed in the fast pace of everyday life.
It was in the quiet moments between the roar of the crowd and the stillness of the studio that I realized these two passions were not so different after all. The most successful football teams execute plays with a kind of artistic precision, a ballet of power and grace. Similarly, a great work of art requires the disciplined execution of a well-defined plan. Both demand an incredible level of focus and a creative mind t. The grit I learned from football gave me the fortitude to persevere through a difficult creative project, and the artistic vision helped me see unexpected angles and new strategies on the field.
This fusion of two worlds fueling my myriad of creativity.
